Program details

The 33-credit curriculum is designed to transform values-driven financial professionals into ethical financial leaders. As one of the few graduate business programs that incorporates financial psychology into its course of study, you will develop an understanding of human behavior to help your clients make more effective decisions.

Financial planning courses include:

  • Personal Financial Planning
  • Insurance Risk Management
  • Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits
  • Estate Planning and Taxation
  • Tax Theory and Business Decisions
  • Investment Value and Theory
  • Cases in Financial Planning

Financial psychology courses include:

  • Applied Behavioral Finance
  • Introduction to Financial Psychology
  • Personal Financial Psychology
  • The Psychology of Family Finances

Prepare to sit for your CFP® exam.

Our program is approved by and meets the educational requirements of the CFP Board, including classes in investments, retirement, risk management, taxation and estate planning, as well as a capstone course.

Admission requirements

The Master of Financial Planning and Financial Psychology program requires the following:

  • Application
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Official transcripts from all educational institutions attended
  • Resume or curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement (see application for specific requirements)
  • Two letters of recommendation from persons other than friends or family members
  • GMAT™ score (test waiver available)
  • Personal interview (at the request of the admissions committee)
