Master’s degree curriculum

The organizational leadership program consists of 18 core credits and 18 elective credits and delivers an interdisciplinary understanding of leadership principles and applications.

Core courses include:

  • Writing for Graduate Students
  • Leadership Theory, Application and Reflection
  • Strategic Orienteering and Execution Tactics
  • Communicating and Leading Across Cultures
  • Innovation and Adaptive Change
  • Contemporary Issues in Leadership
  • Leadership Capstone

Elective options include areas of study such as:

Graduate certificate curriculum

The certificate program consists of 15 credit hours. Courses include:

  • Writing for Graduate Students
  • Leadership Theory, Application and Reflection
  • Strategic Orienteering and Execution Tactics
  • Communicating and Leading Across Cultures
  • Innovation and Adaptive Change
  • Contemporary Issues in Leadership

Concentrations

Tailor your master’s degree with specific industry savvy through a concentration in business leadership or healthcare leadership.

Supplemental certificates

Use your elective courses to complete a graduate certificate in another field of study. Options include: bioethics, K-12 educational leadership through sports, lifestyle medicine, leadership and well-being, negotiation and conflict resolution, healthcare management and sports leadership.

Dual degree options

Save time and money when you earn a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at once.

Admission requirements

  • Master’s degree admission requirements

    The Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program requires the following:

    • Two years of full-time work or relevant leadership experience
    • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a recommended 3.0 GPA or higher
    • Official transcripts from all educational institutions attended
    • A personal statement of approximately 500 words that describes your professional goals and how this degree will help you reach them
    • Two letters of recommendation from faculty members or a workplace supervisor
    • Personal interview (at the request of the admissions committee)

    International students are eligible for this program and F-1 visas may be supported upon admission, dependent on your chosen format. For admission, international applicants must:

  • Graduate certificate admission requirements

    For the graduate certificate program, applicants must:

    • Complete an application.
    • Provide an updated curriculum vitae or resume.
    • Provide an official transcript from the institution that granted your bachelor’s degree.
    • Submit a personal statement that describes your interest in the graduate certificate program.
